About this festival
What began as a small folk festival in 1977 has, over the years, developed into a first class address in the Swiss open-air landscape for the hippest bands from all manner of stylistic corners.
Today the Gurten is one of the largest, most traditional and - fans and artists confirm this year every year - the most beautiful open airs in Switzerland.
