Westerpop will return in July 2018. With this, Westerpop has become a permanent biennale.
The free pop festival in the summer of 2016 took place at a new location. The festival was forced to relocate after the silver jubilee edition of 2014, due to an advancing railway zone in the city. Due to the search for a new suitable location, the festival did not take place in 2015. The edition of 2016 proved to be more than a successful comeback and has received 17,000 visitors.
