Well-known and popular as a "little Woodstock on a leash", the ferryman festival has been thrilling every year since 1983 on the first weekend in August a colorful crowd of music enthusiasts of all stripes. What began as a little Sunday fun has now become a veritable highlight in Hannover's event calendar and has already provided well over 400 bands a stage. The beautiful grounds at the confluence of the Leine and Ihme rivers, an attractive cultural and children's program, international gastronomy and the concept of "ecological open air" contributed to this. In short, the story of this exceptional festival is a success story.
