The Saaremaa Opera Days are the most popular opera festival in the Baltics, which takes place at the heart of Kuressaare's historic castle court, where a 2000-seater opera house is being erected for this purpose. The opera houses include the Shanghai Opera House and the Hungarian National Opera, Bizet's Carmen, Mozart's Figaro Wedding, Verdi's Traviata, Strauss's Mustalparun and, of course, the legendary Alexela Ooperigala. In addition, the contemporary "Riskant Game" opera by Wen Deqing, the Shanghai Dance Theater and the Chinese composer.
